What Do I store My Smoothie Packs In
My hands down favorite way to freeze ANYTHING, is with my handy dandy, oh so pretty, and convenient Stasher bags. These food grade silicone bags that can be washed and reused, somehow keep my freezer stuff fresher and less freezer burned.
What You'll Need
To make ahead green smoothie freezer packs, you'll need the following ingredients:
- 2 cups of spinach
- 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
- 1 cup of frozen pineapple peach mix
- 1 teaspoon of matcha powder
- 1 banana chopped
- A handful of walnuts or pecans
- 1 cup your favorite milk
Step-by-Step Instructions
Now that you have gathered all the necessary ingredients, let's get started with making your green smoothie bowl freezer packs:
- Pack Spinach into measuring cups and add to bag.
- Next, peel and slice the banana, sprinkle the pieces around the spinach so they don't get frozen together as a big chunk (harder to blend).
- Add protein powder, pineapple peach mix, matcha and nuts.
- Making sure to try and squeeze excess air out of bag, seal and stick in freezer.
- Once ready to make smoothie bowl, dump contents of bag into blender, add 1 cup of milk and teaspoon of matcha. (since matcha is delicate, and its flavor quality can be depleted if frozen its best to add this in last with your milk.
- Top with some granola, chocolate chips and your favorite fresh fruit. My favorite granola is this sprouted one from one degree.
