Whole Wheat Sourdough Blondies With Dark Chocolate

If you're here, you're probably looking for a delicious desert without the remorse. Behold these Whole Wheat Sourdough Blondies with Dark Chocolate. Packed with flavor and added benefits of sourdough, these blondies are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt. YUM!
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup coconut oil or unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sourdough discard
- 1 1/2 cup coconut sugar
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup chopped up dark chocolate bar
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a baking dish.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the coconut oil or butter with the egg until well combined.
3. Add in the sourdough discard, mixing until smooth.
4. Stir in the coconut sugar and vanilla until fully incorporated and smooth.
5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt.
6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
7. Fold in the chopped dark chocolate.
8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
10. Allow the blondies to cool before slicing and serving.
I used Dr. Bronners Magic Salted Dark Chocolate, because I prefer a salty bite in my sweets, but any chocolate would work in this recipe.
I used a 10x12 baking pan and lined the bottom with parchment and coated the sides with olive oil.
